GDS 2011
International Event for Shoes & Accessoires
16 - 18 March 2011     Düsseldorf, Germany

Dusseldorf is shopping heaven. With many luxury shops the German fashion center is the place to be to find trendy clothes. The Königsallee is one of Germany's best-known shopping areas and is a must for expensive fashion and antiques. Usually affectionately referred to as the ‘Kö’, Düsseldorf’s Königsallee with its elegant shopping arcades is one of the world’s most beautiful boulevards: the catwalk of the latest fashion trends ... one kilometre of seeing and being seen ... sauntering in front of an interested public on the terraces under the chestnut trees. Numerous street cafes are ideal for watching the modish world go by. The neighbouring Schadowstrasse also offers great opportunities.

Shops and stores are normally open from 8.30 am or 9 am until 6.30 pm. On Thursdays shoppers have until 8.30 pm to browse, especially in the larger downtown stores - Thursday is late-shopping night. Shops close at 2 pm on Saturdays but can stay open until 6 pm in winter and 4 pm in summer. There are four more "long Saturdays" just before Christmas.
